Seven-Year Fugitive Finally Nabbed in Rs5 Million Banking Fraud Case

The FIA Commercial Banking Circle Islamabad has arrested a proclaimed offender who had been absconding for seven years in connection with an alleged Rs5 million banking fraud. Officials say the suspect had been declared a proclaimed offender by the court after failing to appear before judicial proceedings.

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Islamabad Zone has arrested a proclaimed offender who had been evading law enforcement for the past seven years in connection with an alleged Rs5 million banking fraud case.

According to an FIA spokesperson, the arrest was made during an operation conducted by the Commercial Banking Circle Islamabad. The suspect had been declared a proclaimed offender by the relevant court after remaining absent from legal proceedings for several years.

Officials said the Banking Court Islamabad had earlier rejected the accused’s pre-arrest bail application. In an effort to secure his arrest, authorities completed all legal formalities, including the attachment of the suspect’s movable and immovable properties in accordance with court orders.

The FIA stated that the arrest was carried out on the directions of the Director FIA Islamabad Zone under the supervision of the Additional Director, Commercial Banking Circle Islamabad.

The agency reiterated that operations against proclaimed offenders involved in banking and financial crimes will continue, emphasizing its commitment to ensuring that individuals accused of financial fraud are brought before the courts to face legal proceedings.
