Dar, Naqvi Among 355 Civil Award Honourees

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has approved Pakistan Civil Awards for 355 Pakistani and foreign personalities in recognition of outstanding achievements and services across a wide range of fields.
Awards to Be Conferred on Pakistan Day
The awards were announced on Independence Day, August 14, and are scheduled to be formally conferred at an investiture ceremony on Pakistan Day, March 23, 2027. Independent reporting on the announcement confirms the total of 355 recipients and the scheduled conferment date.
Among the prominent political and government figures named for Nishan-i-Imtiaz are Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Federal Minister Ahad Cheema and Minister of State Bilal Azhar Kayani.
Honours for Arts and Entertainment
The honours also recognise prominent figures from Pakistan’s arts and entertainment industry.
Singer Tarranum Naz and actress Nisho Begum are among those named for Sitara-i-Imtiaz, along with actor and comedian Iftikhar Thakur.
Actress Ghazala Kaifi is among the recipients selected for the President’s Award for Pride of Performance.
Actresses Maria Wasti and Sania Saeed have also been named for the President’s Award for Pride of Performance, while renowned writer Asad Muhammad Khan is set to receive Nishan-i-Imtiaz.
Literature, Law and Journalism
In literature, poets Ijaz Rahim and Khurshid Rizvi have been selected for Hilal-i-Imtiaz, while poet Mohsin Naqvi has been named for Sitara-i-Imtiaz.
The list extends across law, journalism, intelligence and the federal bureaucracy.
Attorney General for Pakistan Mansoor Usman Awan has been named for Hilal-i-Imtiaz, while senior journalists Saleh Zafar and Haji Nawaz Raza are among the recipients of Sitara-i-Imtiaz.
Maria Zulfiqar, Adil Shahzeb and Ammar Masood have been named for Tamgha-i-Imtiaz.
Government and Intelligence Officials Honoured
Intelligence Bureau Director General Fawad Asadullah is among those selected for Hilal-i-Imtiaz.
Finance Secretary Imdadullah Bosal has also been named for Hilal-i-Imtiaz, while Commerce Secretary Jawad Paul is among the recipients of Sitara-i-Imtiaz.
Pakistan traditionally announces civil awards on Independence Day, with the honours subsequently conferred at investiture ceremonies on Pakistan Day the following year.
