Residents Urge CDA to Fix Dangerous Margalla Valley-Kot Hathyal Road
The unpaved passage is used daily by hundreds of students, women and residents, who are seeking a safer route and improved access between the three areas.

ISLAMABAD: An unpaved route connecting Bhara Kahu, Margalla Valley and Kot Hathyal has become a source of concern for local residents due to its poor condition and reported security risks.
Schoolchildren Use Route Daily
The route is used daily by hundreds of schoolchildren, including boys and girls, travelling from Margalla Valley to their schools and returning home in the afternoon or evening. Local residents also rely on the same passage to travel towards Kot Hathyal for work and other daily activities before returning to Margalla Valley later in the day.
Residents say the route is in poor condition and passes through an isolated area. According to locals, people who allegedly use drugs are sometimes seen sitting around the area during the day and at night, raising particular concerns for women and girls who use the passage.
Residents Seek Safer Alternative
The route is the main passage connecting the local communities, while a bypass runs above it. However, residents say there is no flyover over the bypass, leaving them without a safer alternative for regular travel.
Local residents have appealed to the government and the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to take steps to improve the passage or consider constructing a flyover over the bypass. They say better access would provide a safer route for schoolchildren, women and other residents travelling between Bhara Kahu, Margalla Valley and Kot Hathyal.
