Dr Saud Altaf Appointed Vice Chancellor of National Skills University

ISLAMABAD: Dr Saud Altaf has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of the National Skills University (NSU), Islamabad, and has formally assumed charge of the office.
Dr Saud Altaf holds a PhD in Computer Science and has more than 23 years of experience in teaching, research and academic administration. Before his appointment as Vice Chancellor, he served as Chairperson of the Department of Computer Science and Director of the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) at the National Skills University.
Throughout his academic career, Dr Altaf has remained actively involved in higher education, research and institutional development, contributing to curriculum advancement, research promotion and innovation initiatives.
He succeeds Dr Muhammad Mukhtar, who served as the Vice Chancellor of National Skills University for seven years. Dr Mukhtar’s tenure ended on June 30, after which he continued his academic career as Rector of a private university in Multan.
The appointment marks a new phase for National Skills University as it continues to expand its focus on skills-based education, research, innovation and industry-academia collaboration.
