Fake Veterinary Medicines Factory Sealed in Islamabad, One Arrested

Joint FIA-DRAP raid in Ghauri Town leads to the seizure of unregistered veterinary medicines, manufacturing equipment, and packaging material; one suspect arrested while the factory owner remains at large.

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Anti-Corruption Circle Islamabad, in a joint operation with the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP), has sealed an unregistered and unlicensed veterinary medicines manufacturing factory in Ghauri Town.

According to FIA, the factory was allegedly engaged in the large-scale production of veterinary medicines without the mandatory registration or licence from the relevant regulatory authorities.
During the raid, officials recovered a large quantity of unregistered veterinary medicines, packaging material, labels, stock registers, and manufacturing equipment, including a weighing balance, pouch sealing machine, and heat gun.

DRAP officials seized the recovered items under the relevant provisions of the Drugs Act, 1976, through Form-5, while samples of the medicines have been sent to a laboratory for testing.

One suspect, identified as Arshad, was arrested at the scene. The factory owner, who was not present during the raid, has been nominated in the case and efforts are underway to arrest the absconding suspect.
