Islamabad Tourist Dies After Falling into Skardu’s Kachura Lake While Trying to Retrieve Phone
Police say the tourist's mobile phone fell into the lake while taking a selfie, and he drowned after entering the water to retrieve it.

ISLAMABAD: A tourist from Islamabad died after falling into Kachura Lake in Skardu while attempting to retrieve his mobile phone, police said.
According to police, the incident occurred when the tourist was taking a selfie near the lake. During the process, his mobile phone reportedly slipped from his hands and fell into the water. Police said the tourist entered the lake in an attempt to recover the phone but lost his balance and drowned.
Local authorities and rescuers responded to the incident and recovered the body. Further legal formalities were completed before handing the body over to the family.
Police have urged tourists visiting lakes, rivers, and other scenic locations to exercise caution, avoid standing close to the water’s edge for selfies, and refrain from entering deep water to retrieve personal belongings.
