14-Year-Old Student Dies After Drowning in Islamabad Stream

ISLAMABAD: A 14-year-old student lost his life after drowning in a seasonal stream in Islamabad’s Tarkabad, Sarai Kharboza area on Saturday, highlighting the dangers posed by swollen water channels during the ongoing monsoon season.
The deceased was identified as Tauqeer Ahmed, son of Tanveer Ahmed. According to preliminary information, the Class 9 student had gone to the stream with the intention of bathing or catching fish when he was swept away by the water and drowned.
Rescue teams and local authorities responded to the incident, while legal formalities were completed and the body was handed over to the family.
Family Background
Family members said Tauqeer belonged to a family of five siblings. His father is currently working in Qatar, while the family resides in Tarkabad, Sarai Kharboza, Islamabad and originally hails from Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

The tragic incident has left the local community in mourning and serves as another reminder of the risks associated with entering rivers, nullahs, and seasonal streams during heavy rains.
