Woman Found Dead Nine Months After Marriage in Rawalpindi

Police investigate alleged murder of Hina Javed after her body was found with her hands tied inside a Lal Kurti residence; family seeks arrest of father-in-law named in the case.

RAWALPINDI: Police have arrested the husband and a domestic worker of a 45-year-old woman who was found dead under suspicious circumstances inside her residence in Rawalpindi’s Lal Kurti area, as investigators probe allegations that she was murdered and an attempt was made to portray her death as suicide.

Woman Found Dead Inside Residence

The deceased, identified as Hina Javed, was found inside the bathroom of a residence in the jurisdiction of Civil Lines Police Station. According to the FIR registered on the complaint of her brother, her hands were tied behind her back, her mouth was covered with cloth and a wire was found around her neck.

The FIR was registered on August 20 under Sections 302 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code, relating to murder and acts carried out by several persons with common intention.

Family Raises Allegations

According to police and the complainant, Hina had married approximately nine months earlier, in November 2025.

Her brother stated that he received a telephone call from Hina’s father-in-law informing him of an emergency at the residence. When family members reached the property, they found Hina dead in the bathroom.

The complainant has accused Hina’s husband, his father and a domestic worker of involvement in her death. He further alleged that Hina had previously been subjected to physical and psychological abuse by her husband. These allegations remain subject to police investigation and judicial determination.

Police Arrest Two Suspects

Police have arrested Hina’s husband and the domestic worker and are questioning them in connection with the case. The victim’s family has meanwhile demanded the arrest of her father-in-law, who they say has also been nominated in the FIR.

Post-Mortem Report Awaited

Police have collected evidence from the scene and conducted a post-mortem examination. The post-mortem report is awaited and is expected to help investigators determine the precise cause and circumstances of death.

The investigation remains ongoing, and no court has yet determined criminal responsibility in the case.

The arrest of the husband and domestic worker is reported by multiple outlets, while the FIR details concerning the condition in which Hina was found are independently reported by Dawn, Geo News and Arab News.
