Saudi Ambassador Nawaf Al-Malki Concludes Diplomatic Assignment in Pakistan
Prime minister appreciates the outgoing envoy’s diplomatic contribution and Saudi Arabia’s continued support for Pakistan as Al-Malki concludes his assignment in Islamabad.
ISLAMABAD, August 27, 2026: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday received Saudi Arabia’s outgoing Ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, at the Prime Minister House in Islamabad as the envoy concludes his diplomatic assignment in the country.
PM Praises Ambassador’s Contribution
During the farewell meeting, the prime minister congratulated Al-Malki on the successful completion of his tenure and praised his contribution to strengthening the longstanding fraternal and strategic relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The meeting and remarks were confirmed by the Prime Minister’s Office and the state-run Associated Press of Pakistan.
Shehbaz conveyed his best wishes to Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
Pakistan Appreciates Saudi Support
The prime minister also expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s continued support and assistance to Pakistan and acknowledged the Kingdom’s role in promoting peace and stability in the region.
Ambassador Al-Malki thanked the prime minister and the Government of Pakistan for the cooperation, hospitality and warmth extended to him during his diplomatic assignment. He described his stay in Pakistan as a memorable experience and reiterated his personal commitment to further strengthening relations between the two countries.
Al-Malki’s Long Diplomatic Tenure
Al-Malki has served as Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Pakistan since 2017, making him a familiar figure in Islamabad’s diplomatic community. His tenure covered extensive engagement between the two countries across political, economic and trade affairs.
Outgoing Envoy Also Met President Zardari
The farewell call comes days after Al-Malki met President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad. During that meeting, the president also praised the Saudi envoy’s role in advancing bilateral relations.
Prime Minister Shehbaz wished Al-Malki success in his future responsibilities as his diplomatic tenure in Pakistan comes to an end.
