Pakistan Visa Report Lists 24 Tourist-Friendly Countries, 69 Business Visa States
Documents reviewed by Islamabad Tribune detail business and group-tourism visa lists, visa arrangements for different passport categories and dual-nationality agreements; some figures in the supplied report differ from the latest information currently published by Pakistan’s immigration authorities.
ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Interior has compiled a detailed report outlining Pakistan’s country-wise visa arrangements across several categories, including business visas, group tourism, visa grants, visa abolition arrangements and dual nationality, according to documents reviewed by Islamabad Tribune.
The documents include a Business Visa List (BVL) comprising 69 countries. Among the countries appearing on the supplied list are Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Sweden, Türkiye, the United Kingdom, United States and United Arab Emirates.
A separate appendix identifies 24 Tourist Friendly Countries (TFCs) for group tourism through designated tour operators. The countries listed are Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Luxembourg, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, the United Kingdom and United States.
Under the framework described in the documents, tourists falling within the group-tourism category are to be handled through designated tour operators, with responsibility placed on the concerned operator for compliance with applicable visa conditions.
Another appendix, titled “List-B Countries (For Grant of Visa),” contains 15 countries or entities: Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Iraq, Israel, Libya, Nigeria, P.L.O., Serbia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tanzania, Uganda and Yemen.
Current DGI&P Data Differs From Supplied Report
The material also contains an appendix on countries with which Pakistan has visa-abolition agreements. That document lists 36 countries and distinguishes between arrangements covering diplomatic passport holders, diplomatic and official passport holders, and all nationals of certain countries.
However, Islamabad Tribune’s cross-check of the documents against the current Directorate General of Immigration & Passports (DGI&P) website shows that parts of the supplied material appear to reflect an older visa-policy framework.
The current DGI&P visa-category page states that Pakistan’s Business Visa List has expanded to 96 countries, rather than the 69 shown in the supplied appendix. The same official source continues to list 24 Tourist Friendly Countries for group tourism through designated tour operators.
There is also a significant difference regarding visa abolition/exemption arrangements. While the supplied document lists 36 countries, the DGI&P currently says Pakistan has visa abolition or exemption agreements with 49 countries, covering different categories of diplomatic, official/service and ordinary passport holders. The official list is stated as being current as of February 21, 2024.
Similarly, the supplied dual-nationality appendix lists 16 countries, including Australia, Belgium, Canada, Egypt, France, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Jordan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Switzerland, Syria, Sweden, the United Kingdom and United States.
The latest DGI&P information, however, says Pakistan currently has dual-nationality arrangements with 22 countries. The official list, last modified on January 9, 2026, additionally includes Bahrain, Denmark, Germany, Norway and Luxembourg, among others.
The differences indicate that the Interior Ministry report supplied to Islamabad Tribune may compile appendices from different periods of Pakistan’s visa-policy framework. The latest DGI&P rules should therefore be consulted for current visa eligibility and requirements.
