Former SSP Operations Islamabad Shoaib Khan Joins NCCIA
Known as a ‘super cop’, Shoaib Khan brings extensive cybercrime experience to NCCIA after previously serving as Islamabad Police’s first SSP Cyber Crime, besides holding key assignments in Safe City and as SSP Operations.

ISLAMABAD: Former SSP Operations Islamabad Muhammad Shoaib Khan has been transferred to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), bringing an experienced Police Service of Pakistan officer with a background in operational, Safe City and cybercrime policing to the federal cybercrime agency.
According to a notification issued by the Establishment Division, Shoaib Khan, a BS-18 officer of the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP), has been transferred from the Federal Constabulary and his services have been placed at the disposal of the Interior and Narcotics Control Division for further posting in the NCCIA with immediate effect and until further orders.

Experience in Cybercrime and Safe City Policing
Shoaib Khan is no stranger to cybercrime and technology-based policing. During his service with Islamabad Capital Police, he remained associated with the Safe City setup and also served in a cybercrime assignment described as SSP Cyber Crime.
He later served as SSP Operations Islamabad, one of the key operational positions in the capital police, where he supervised crime-control operations, police stations, patrolling, investigations and action against proclaimed offenders and organised criminal groups.

During his tenure as SSP Operations, Khan remained active in the field and frequently visited police stations and crime scenes, besides holding meetings with SHOs and other operational officers. He also conducted public hearings to address complaints and directed police officials to ensure prompt action on citizens’ applications.
His tenure in Islamabad also saw him supervise a number of operations against gangs allegedly involved in robberies, vehicle theft and other property-related offences. State-run and local media reports from the period regularly quoted him on crime-control operations and policing measures in the federal capital.
From Safe City to Federal Cybercrime Agency
Khan also remained associated with Islamabad’s Safe City project, giving him exposure to technology-driven policing, surveillance systems and digital tools used in modern law enforcement.
It was during his Islamabad Police career that he developed a reputation among colleagues and sections of the local media as a “super cop”, an informal description rather than an official title because of his combination of field policing and technology-related assignments.
His earlier experience in cybercrime policing is expected to be particularly relevant to his new assignment as the NCCIA is the federal government’s specialised agency dealing with cybercrime investigations and digital offences.
Previous FIA and Federal Constabulary Postings
Before his latest transfer, Khan had also served in the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). The Establishment Division transferred him from the FIA to the Federal Constabulary in February 2026 and placed his services at the disposal of the Interior and Narcotics Control Division.
Now, only months after that posting, the federal government has moved him from the Federal Constabulary for further posting in the NCCIA.
The latest assignment marks another important posting in Shoaib Khan’s policing career, which has so far included conventional field policing, Safe City operations, cybercrime-related work, command of Islamabad Police operations and service in federal law-enforcement organisations.
