Mohsin Naqvi Greets Chinese Leadership on 77th National Day
Interior Minister extends greetings to President Xi Jinping and the Chinese people, describing Pakistan and China as enduring all-weather partners whose friendship has stood firm through crises and regional challenges.
ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday congratulated the Chinese leadership and people on the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, paying tribute to China’s development and reaffirming the strength of Pakistan-China relations.
China is observing its National Day on October 1, marking 77 years since the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949. Official Chinese sources have also confirmed nationwide events marking the anniversary.
In his message, Naqvi extended his best wishes to Chinese President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang, his Chinese counterpart and the people of China.
The interior minister described the occasion as an opportunity to recognise what he called the Chinese nation’s perseverance and extraordinary spirit. He said China had achieved major advances in human development, science and technology under President Xi’s leadership.
Naqvi Highlights Pakistan-China “All-Weather” Partnership
Naqvi placed particular emphasis on the bilateral relationship, saying Pakistan-China friendship had stood the test of time and describing the two countries as strong “all-weather” partners.
His remarks come in a significant year for bilateral ties, as Pakistan and China are also marking the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2026. President Asif Ali Zardari, in a separate National Day message, similarly reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening the strategic partnership with China.
Naqvi said China had supported Pakistan through crises, regional tensions and internal challenges. Using a symbolic description of the relationship, he said the peaks of the Himalayas, depths of the seas and rugged routes of the Karakoram stood witness to the enduring friendship between the two countries.
He also praised China’s economic, social and technological progress and said its achievements had contributed to regional development and stability.
China Marks 77 Years Since Founding of PRC
China’s official National Day events this year have highlighted the country’s development over the past 77 years. President Xi Jinping, addressing a reception in Beijing on September 30, said China had recorded rapid economic growth and long-term social stability while continuing its modernization drive.
Naqvi concluded his message by paying tribute to the hard work, innovation and determination of the Chinese people on their National Day.
