Former Karachi Company SHO brings extensive field experience to his new assignment as Personal Staff Officer to the Inspector General of Police Islamabad.

ISLAMABAD: Inspector Nadeem Tahir has assumed charge as Personal Staff Officer (PSO) to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, moving to the capital police leadership office after serving in key field assignments.
Previous Posting
Tahir was most recently serving as Station House Officer (SHO) of Karachi Company Police Station. His posting there is supported by recent Islamabad Police records, including an official September 2026 report identifying him as Karachi Company SHO during an operation conducted by police teams.
Pakistan also identified Inspector Nadeem Tahir as SHO Karachi Company while reporting on a police operation on September 22, 2026. Earlier reporting on Islamabad Police transfers shows that he was posted to Karachi Company in June 2026.
Tahir has held several field assignments during his career with Islamabad Police and has served as SHO at different police stations in the federal capital. Records from January 2026, for example, identify him as a former SHO of Bani Gala Police Station.
Previous Experience
According to information shared regarding his professional background, Tahir has also previously served as PSO to former DIG Operations Islamabad Syed Shehzad Nadeem Bukhari. Bukhari himself served in senior Islamabad Police assignments, although Tahir’s specific previous PSO assignment could not be independently verified through publicly accessible official records reviewed by Islamabad Tribune.
Police circles also describe Tahir as academically well-qualified among Islamabad Police’s field officers. Details of his academic qualifications, however, were not available in the publicly accessible official material reviewed for this report.
New Assignment
His latest assignment shifts him from direct police-station command to the IGP office, where the PSO position involves close coordination with the police chief’s office and various formations of Islamabad Police.
