Koral Police Trace Woman’s Killing, Arrest Son Among Three Suspects

Police say Sajida Bibi’s son was among three suspects arrested after CCTV footage, geofencing, call-data analysis and human intelligence helped investigators trace the case.

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police say they have traced the death of a woman whose body was recovered from a wooded area in the jurisdiction of Koral Police Station, arresting three suspects, including the victim’s son.

Three Suspects Arrested

SP Sawan Area Hasnain Waris, accompanied by SHO Koral Aamir Hayat, announced the arrests during a press conference, saying the case was solved through a combination of technical investigation, CCTV footage, geofencing, call-data analysis and human intelligence.

The victim was identified as Sajida Bibi. Initial reports on September 30 said her body had been recovered from a wooded area behind Koral Police Station and that she had suffered a gunshot wound to the head. At the time, police said no identification documents had been found at the scene.

According to police, a case was subsequently registered at Koral Police Station and specialised teams involving the DIB Technical Wing, Koral Police and the Homicide Investigation Unit were formed to investigate the incident.

Police Detail Investigation

Police identified the arrested suspects as Sohail Masih, Chashman Masih — whom police described as the victim’s son — and Robin Masih.

Investigators alleged that Sohail Masih was acquainted with the victim’s 13-year-old daughter and that Sajida Bibi’s son brought his mother to the location where the incident later occurred. Police alleged that the woman was subsequently shot in the head in the Koral area.

Officials said investigators recovered a pistol allegedly used in the incident, spent ammunition, a vehicle and mobile phones, including phones belonging to the victim and her daughter.

Police said the suspects were traced through CCTV footage, geofencing, call-data records and information gathered through human sources.

The arrests and allegations announced by police remain part of an ongoing criminal investigation. The suspects are entitled to due process, and responsibility for the offence can only be determined by a competent court after examination of the evidence.
