Car Crash Near Faizabad Checkpost Leaves Three Young Men Injured
A car struck a pole at the Faizabad checkpost on Islamabad Expressway, leaving three occupants injured; one of the occupants reportedly alleged the driver was speeding and using a mobile phone before the collision.

ISLAMABAD: Three young men were injured after a car reportedly crashed into a pole at the Faizabad checkpost on Islamabad Expressway during the early hours of Tuesday, October 6.
Three Occupants Shifted to Hospital
Footage circulating on social media shows a badly damaged car resting beside the checkpost structure following the impact. According to information shared with the footage, rescue personnel reached the scene and shifted the three occupants to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
An independent Islamabad traffic update published Tuesday morning also reported an accident in the first lane of Islamabad Expressway near a checkpost, saying the incident had caused heavy traffic towards I-8 by around 8am.
Cause of Crash Yet to Be Verified
One of the injured occupants reportedly claimed that the driver had been using a mobile phone and travelling at high speed shortly before the vehicle struck the pole. However, Islamabad Tribune could not independently verify this claim, and no publicly available statement from Islamabad Police or emergency authorities confirming the exact cause of the incident was found at the time of publication.
The circumstances leading to the collision therefore remain subject to official verification, including whether speed, distraction or any other factor contributed to the incident.
Traffic Police Intensifies Road Safety Enforcement
The episode comes amid renewed enforcement by Islamabad Traffic Police against risky driving practices. In August, Chief Traffic Officer Kainat Azhar Khan specifically ordered action against over-speeding, dangerous driving and mobile-phone use while driving, describing such violations as threats to road safety.
Islamabad Police’s official road-safety guidance also advises motorists to avoid using mobile phones while driving and urges additional caution on high-speed corridors including Islamabad Expressway and Srinagar Highway.
Officials have repeatedly stressed that compliance with traffic laws and responsible driving are essential to reducing serious road incidents in the federal capital. Islamabad Traffic Police provides traffic updates and assistance through its 1915 helpline.
