21 Dengue Cases Reported in Islamabad Through October 5
Fourteen cases have been reported from rural Islamabad and seven from urban areas as health authorities intensify dengue surveillance across the federal capital.

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad has recorded 21 dengue cases so far in 2026, with health authorities intensifying surveillance and preventive operations across the federal capital.
14 Cases Reported in Rural Areas
According to official figures, 14 cases have been reported from rural areas of Islamabad, while seven cases were detected in urban localities between January 1 and October 5.
Health teams have stepped up indoor and outdoor surveillance, inspections of potential mosquito-breeding sites and monitoring of identified hotspots as Islamabad enters a season considered particularly important for dengue prevention.
Anti-Dengue Teams Conduct Inspections
Anti-dengue teams are also carrying out door-to-door inspections, checking water containers, rooftops, gardens and other locations where stagnant water can provide breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
Authorities have urged residents to regularly remove standing water, keep water containers covered and cooperate with field teams conducting surveillance in residential areas.
Officials say continued monitoring, early identification of breeding sites and public cooperation will remain essential to limiting further spread during the coming weeks.
