The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has officially announced summer vacations for educational institutions operating under its administration in Islamabad.According to a notification issued by the Academics Wing of FDE, summer vacations in Islamabad Model Schools, Colleges and Ex-FG institutions will be observed from May 25, 2026 to July 31, 2026. All educational institutions under the ambit of FDE will reopen on August 3, 2026.The notification stated that heads of institutions and administrative staff will continue performing official duties from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm during the vacation period.FDE has also directed institutions to ensure participation of students in a two-week Summer Fiesta beginning from June 15, 2026. In addition, coaching classes for Grade IX and X students may be arranged during June and July through digital hub-connected classrooms, while teacher training sessions will also continue during the break.The notification further stated that undergraduate BS and ADP classes will continue according to the academic calendar, while repair, maintenance and stock-checking activities in institutions will also be carried out during the summer vacations.The notification was issued with the approval of the Director General FDE.
