SC Directs Imran Khan to Be Shifted to Shifa Hospital Today

Top court directs authorities to shift the PTI founder to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad today amid proceedings concerning his health and medical care.

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday ordered authorities to transfer former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad today, marking a significant development in proceedings concerning his health and medical treatment.

Three-Member Bench Issues Direction

According to reports from the court proceedings, a three-member Supreme Court bench headed by Justice Shahid Waheed issued the direction for Khan’s transfer to the private hospital.

Justices Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Ishtiaq Ibrahim were also part of the bench.

The court directed the relevant authorities to ensure that the PTI founder is shifted to Shifa International Hospital the same day.

PTI Had Sought Hospital Transfer

The development comes amid continuing legal proceedings and concerns raised by Khan’s legal team and family regarding his health and access to medical treatment while incarcerated.

PTI had previously approached the Supreme Court seeking Khan’s transfer to Shifa International Hospital for medical examination and treatment, along with access to doctors of his choice.

Medical Reports Submitted to Court

Reports submitted in connection with his medical condition have also addressed his recent eye treatment and other health-related issues.

Jail authorities had maintained that his eyesight had shown significant improvement following treatment, while Khan’s representatives continued to seek further medical assessment.
