Mother Allegedly Killed by Husband After Giving Birth to Baby Girl in Islamabad

An initial report links the Bhara Kahu incident to the birth of a daughter, while police investigate the circumstances.

ISLAMABAD: A woman was allegedly killed by her husband in Islamabad’s Bhara Kahu area on the same day she reportedly gave birth to a daughter, according to a preliminary incident update.

The incident was reported in Usmania Mohalla, in the Qaziabad locality near Nai Abadi Ground, within the jurisdiction of Bhara Kahu police station. The husband allegedly fled the scene.

The initial account alleges that the husband attacked his wife because she had delivered a baby girl. This remains an allegation about the motive rather than an established finding of the investigation.

Body Shifted to PIMS for Post-Mortem

The woman’s body was reportedly transferred to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for a post-mortem examination. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.

A local crime reporter’s public post also carries the allegation that a husband killed his wife in the same locality and fled. However, that matching account does not independently establish the reported childbirth-related motive.

Police Investigating Circumstances of Death

The supplied update does not identify the woman or the suspect, specify how she died, or provide an FIR number. It also contains no information about the newborn’s condition or care arrangements.

The investigation and post-mortem findings will be needed to establish the sequence of events and assess the allegations against the husband.
