‘Pakistanis Are a Vibrant Nation’: Naqvi Hails Islamabad Parade

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited D-Chowk and thanked officials and personnel of the capital administration, Islamabad Police and Federal Constabulary for their role in successfully organising the Independence Day City Parade.

City Parade Returns to D-Chowk After 12 Years

Naqvi met organisers individually and appreciated the collective efforts behind the event, which brought Independence Day celebrations back to D-Chowk in the form of a City Parade after a gap of 12 years.

The parade was held on August 14 with national songs, cultural displays, musical performances and other festivities, drawing a large public turnout. Independent reporting by Associated Press of Pakistan also confirmed that the City Parade returned to D-Chowk after 12 years and featured national culture, music and public celebrations.

Interior Minister Appreciates Organisers

According to the Interior Minister, the team responsible for making the parade successful worked day and night on preparations. He particularly appreciated what he referred to as the “Under-19” team and congratulated all officers and personnel involved in the arrangements.

Naqvi also expressed gratitude to Islamabad residents for turning out in large numbers. He said thousands of citizens enjoyed the various events organised as part of the parade and praised participants for demonstrating national spirit as well as exemplary discipline.

“Citizens proved today that Pakistanis are a vibrant nation,” Naqvi said, according to the statement shared about his visit.

The minister said the August 14 celebrations at D-Chowk were held with strong national spirit and enthusiasm after the 12-year gap, while acknowledging the contribution of both organisers and citizens in making the event successful.
