FIA Registers Human Trafficking Case After 12 Pakistanis Deported From Libya
Citizens were allegedly lured with overseas job offers and routed through Dubai and Egypt before plans to smuggle them into Italy by boat.

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has registered a human trafficking case following the deportation of 12 Pakistani nationals from Libya and launched an investigation into agents allegedly involved in arranging their illegal journey to Italy.
According to the FIA Islamabad Zone, the deportees were received by FIA Immigration officials at Islamabad International Airport and subsequently handed over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Rawalpindi for further legal proceedings. A case was registered following their handover.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the Pakistani nationals were allegedly lured by different agents with promises of employment opportunities abroad. The agents reportedly arranged their departure from Pakistan to Libya through Dubai and Egypt, using visit and Umrah visas.
The investigation further indicates that the individuals were intended to be transported from Libya to Italy by boat through illegal migration routes. The agents allegedly collected substantial amounts of money from the citizens in exchange for arranging their travel abroad.
FIA Investigating Suspected Human Trafficking Network
The FIA is investigating the suspected agents and other individuals who may have facilitated the operation. The case is being investigated by Inspector Mohammad Abdullah Kayani.
The FIA Islamabad Zone said it would continue taking legal action against individuals involved in human smuggling and illegal migration.
