NCCIA Cyber Patrol Goes Nationwide as Shoaib Khan Warns of Crackdown
Additional Director Islamabad Muhammad Shoaib Khan says teams are tracing accounts, blocking links and pursuing cases, while helpline 1799 is now operational across Pakistan.

ISLAMABAD: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has activated its cyber patrolling teams across Pakistan, Additional Director Islamabad Muhammad Shoaib Khan said, warning that action would be taken against people involved in unlawful online activity.
He said the teams were monitoring social media, identifying links and accounts, and using internet protocol (IP) information to trace the people operating them. Khan said links had been blocked and arrests made as part of the agency’s ongoing crackdown.
The official said the NCCIA was pursuing cases involving the unauthorised sharing of videos, online harassment, alleged defamation and other unlawful activity. He also referred to online content described as anti-state, saying the agency would act under the law.
NCCIA Urges Responsible Online Activity
Khan urged citizens to be careful when uploading or sharing material that could harm others or violate the law. He said complaints were being registered and referred to relevant officials through an established redressal system, with senior officers reviewing progress regularly.
He added that the NCCIA’s 1799 helpline was operational nationwide for people seeking to report cybercrime. Any allegation or enforcement action remains subject to investigation and due process.
