FBISE Announces 2026 Intermediate Results, Pass Rate Stands at 85.95%
More than 212,000 candidates appeared in the annual examinations, with female students recording a higher pass percentage than male candidates; top positions were announced across Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, Science, Commerce and Humanities groups.
ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) on Wednesday announced the results of the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) First Annual Examinations 2026, reporting an overall pass percentage of 85.95 percent.
The FBISE’s official result announcement page confirms that the HSSC First Annual Examination 2026 results were scheduled for declaration on September 9, 2026.
Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui attended the result announcement ceremony as chief guest, while FBISE Chairman Dr Ikram Ali Malik delivered the welcome address.
According to figures shared at the ceremony, 212,416 candidates participated in the annual examinations, while 1,237 staff members were involved in the preparation and compilation of the results. Only seven unfair-means cases were reported during the examinations.
The overall pass percentage stood at 85.95 percent, while female candidates recorded a higher passing percentage than male students.
Top Position Holders Announced
In the Pre-Medical Group, Army Public School student Amara Azhar secured first position with 1,079 marks. Muhammad Jahanzaib of Punjab College stood second with 1,078 marks, while Syeda Iman Fatima secured third position with 1,076 marks.
In Pre-Engineering, Iman Arjumand topped the group with 1,075 marks, followed by Zainab Sami with 1,070 and Anza Fatima with 1,068 marks.
In the Science Group, Abdullah Azhar secured first position with 1,063 marks, while Ayan Azhar and Hadi Zakaria took second and third positions respectively.
In Commerce, Aqsa Farooq topped with 1,051 marks, Aiza Afzal secured second position with 1,047, while Amna Asif stood third with 1,046 marks.
In the Humanities Group, Iman Fatima secured first position with 1,007 marks and Amna Azhar stood second with 1,003. Yahya Fazil and Umair Raza jointly secured third position with 1,002 marks each.
Candidates can access their results through FBISE’s result services. The board’s official portal provides online result-search facilities, while FBISE has also historically provided results through SMS and its telephone exchange.
Education Minister Calls Students Pakistan’s Valuable Asset
Addressing the ceremony, Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui described students as one of Pakistan’s most valuable assets and said it was encouraging to see boys also featuring prominently among high achievers this year.
The minister stressed that considerable work was still required to improve the quality and purpose of education. He said education and intellectual capacity were shared assets of the modern world and that the federal government and education ministry were working to align the education system with future needs.
He also referred to the evolving distribution of responsibilities in the education sector, saying education was now largely a responsibility of provinces and local governments, while maintaining that the federal education system should serve as a benchmark.
