11-Year Worker Disappears After Leaving Islamabad Employer’s Home
Journalist Saddia Mazhar says Humaira Bibi, who had worked at an Islamabad bureaucrat’s residence for 11 years, disappeared after leaving the house; her family says they have had no contact with her for two days, while a theft case has reportedly been registered against her.

ISLAMABAD: Questions have been raised over the reported disappearance of a domestic worker who had allegedly been employed at the Islamabad residence of a bureaucrat for around 11 years, after journalist Saddia Mazhar shared details of the case on social media.
Worker Reportedly Missing
According to Mazhar’s account, Humaira Bibi had been working at the residence for a monthly salary of Rs15,000 and was reportedly required to remain at the house around the clock.
Mazhar claimed that Humaira left the residence two days ago after an apparent disagreement and has not been in contact with her family since. Her parents reportedly say they do not know where she is or whether she is safe.
The social-media account further alleges that the employer subsequently registered a case against Humaira, accusing her of taking six tolas of gold and Rs300,000 in cash.
Allegations Remain Unverified
According to the post, Humaira’s family has also approached authorities with a complaint concerning her disappearance. However, the circumstances surrounding her whereabouts and the allegations made against her remain unclear.
Islamabad Tribune could not independently verify the allegations in the social-media post through publicly available sources. Web searches conducted for the reported case did not surface an official Islamabad Police statement, FIR, court record or other authoritative source confirming the specific claims.
The allegations against Humaira should therefore be treated as unproven unless established through investigation or judicial proceedings. Similarly, any claims concerning the employer or the circumstances of Humaira’s disappearance remain allegations pending an official account.
Islamabad Police’s version, including whether a missing-person complaint and theft case have formally been registered and what progress has been made in tracing Humaira, would be essential to establishing the full facts of the case.
