SP Rural Zeeshan Introduces Unique Direct Complaint Box
SP Rural Zeeshan Ali reportedly keeps the complaint box key himself, personally reviews citizens' applications every morning and encourages residents to raise concerns without recommendations or intermediaries.

ISLAMABAD, October 14, 2026: Superintendent of Police (SP) Rural Zone Zeeshan Ali has reportedly introduced a direct public complaint mechanism at his office in Islamabad, placing a locked complaint box outside the premises to allow citizens to submit their grievances directly to him without relying on personal connections or intermediaries.
According to details shared about the initiative, the officer retains the only key to the complaint box and personally opens it each morning upon arriving at his office. He reportedly collects the submitted applications, reads the complaints himself and initiates appropriate action on the matters brought to his attention.
Direct Access Without Staff Interference
A distinctive aspect of the arrangement is the reported exclusion of administrative staff from the initial complaint-review process.
Neither the officer’s reader, personal staff officer (PSO), nor other office employees are said to handle the applications before they reach the SP.
The arrangement is intended to provide a more direct communication channel between citizens and the senior police officer, particularly for individuals who may otherwise face difficulties bringing their concerns to the attention of police authorities.
By personally examining the applications, SP Zeeshan Ali aims to reduce dependence on intermediaries and allow citizens to bring their concerns directly to the attention of the zonal police leadership.
Citizens Encouraged to Submit Complaints Directly
SP Zeeshan Ali has reportedly invited residents across Islamabad’s Rural Zone to use the complaint box whenever they have concerns requiring police attention.
The message accompanying the initiative emphasizes that citizens do not need personal recommendations, influential contacts or special references to submit their complaints.
Residents can place written applications in the box for the officer’s direct consideration.
The arrangement offers an additional avenue for citizens who prefer submitting complaints in writing rather than approaching office staff or seeking appointments with senior officials.
Supporting Islamabad Police’s Public Service Objectives
The initiative is consistent with Islamabad Police’s broader stated emphasis on accessible policing, transparent complaint handling and the timely resolution of public grievances.
Islamabad Police has also been conducting open courts, commonly known as Khuli Kachehri, where senior officers hear citizens’ concerns directly and issue instructions to relevant personnel.
In addition to these arrangements, the department maintains an IGP Complaint Cell through helpline 1715, enabling residents to register concerns through an established official channel.
The complaint box at the Rural Zone office represents a separate, localized approach aimed at making direct communication with the SP more accessible.
Transparency and Follow-Up Remain Important
The effectiveness of the initiative will ultimately depend on how complaints are processed, whether appropriate follow-up action is taken and whether complainants receive timely responses.
Personal review by a senior officer may help bring urgent concerns to attention, but consistent complaint tracking and decisions based on merit remain essential to any effective grievance-redressal mechanism.
The reported arrangement illustrates how relatively simple administrative measures can potentially improve communication between the public and police leadership.
SP Zeeshan Ali’s initiative places particular emphasis on removing perceived barriers between citizens and senior officers, while reinforcing the principle that access to police services should not depend on personal influence.
The number of applications received through the box, their disposal rate and the outcomes of individual complaints have not yet been independently established.
The initiative’s longer-term value will therefore be measured by its ability to translate direct access into transparent, timely and meaningful responses for residents of Islamabad’s Rural Zone.
