Uraan School Launched During Hamza Humayun’s Tenure to Offer Free Scooty Training for Women
Female police officers will supervise practical lessons from November 1 to 15 at Islamabad Traffic Police’s women-focused training school in Faizabad.

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Traffic Police has announced free scooty-riding training for women from November 1 to 15 at Uraan Driving School, which was launched in February 2026 during the tenure of former Chief Traffic Officer Captain (Retd) Hamza Humayun.
The programme has been arranged on the instructions of the Islamabad inspector general of police. Experienced female police officers will supervise practical training to help participants develop riding skills and confidence for everyday commuting.
The fee waiver applies specifically to scooty training during the announced period.
Uraan Driving School Offers Training for Women
Located at Islamabad Traffic Police Headquarters in Faizabad, Uraan was inaugurated by then Islamabad IGP Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi while Hamza Humayun was serving as CTO. The school introduced structured instruction for women in car driving, motorcycle riding and scooty handling.
Its facilities include a dedicated driving track and practical training areas, with qualified instructors, including women trainers, providing lessons. The school’s courses have covered road-safety principles, vehicle handling and basic maintenance.
Previous Batches Complete Training
At the first batch’s graduation ceremony on March 8, 2026, 100 women completed training. Humayun attended the ceremony and distributed driving licences and certificates among successful participants. Training for that batch also included basic vehicle maintenance and tyre changing.
The school subsequently completed a second batch in April through a 21-day course covering car driving, motorcycle riding and scooty training.
Registration Details Awaited
For the November programme, traffic police has encouraged women to participate in the free practical sessions. Class timings, eligibility requirements, required documents and registration deadlines were not specified in the announcement.
