IHC Issues Show-Cause Notice to PMDC Over Alleged Failure to Restore Employees
Justice Inam Amin Minhas seeks a response by November 25 after employees approach the court over alleged non-implementation of a March 2026 judgment.

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court has issued a show-cause notice to Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) authorities over the alleged failure to implement an earlier judgment concerning the reinstatement of dismissed employees.
Justice Inam Amin Minhas directed the authorities concerned to submit their response by November 25, explaining why contempt of court proceedings should not be initiated against them.
The development came during the hearing of a contempt petition filed by employees seeking implementation of the court’s earlier decision. Advocate Imran Ashfaq appeared on behalf of the petitioners.
According to the petitioners’ case, the Islamabad High Court had set aside their dismissal in March 2026. They subsequently approached the court through a contempt petition, maintaining that they had not been reinstated despite that judgment.
Their application concerns the alleged failure to give effect to the earlier ruling. The latest notice requires the PMDC authorities to explain their position before the court determines whether further contempt proceedings are warranted.
PMDC Asked to Respond by November 25
The reported direction sets November 25 as the deadline for the authorities’ response. It should not be interpreted as a finding that contempt has been established.
The supplied hearing details do not identify the individual officials served with notices, the number of employees involved or the precise terms of the March judgment. They also do not include PMDC’s response to the petitioners’ allegations.
The matter remains pending before the Islamabad High Court.
