CDA to Launch Eviction Drive Against Illegal Occupants of G-6 Flats on July 2

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) Administration and Enforcement Wings will lead a major eviction operation against illegal occupants of government flats in Islamabad’s Sector G-6 on July 2, 2026, as part of the implementation of court orders directing the recovery of government properties from unauthorized occupants.
According to an official notification issued by the CDA Administration Directorate, the operation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will be carried out under the supervision of nominated CDA officers. The authority has sought assistance from the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration and Islamabad Police to ensure the operation is conducted peacefully, lawfully, and without disruption.
The notification states that the eviction drive is being undertaken in compliance with judgments of the Islamabad High Court and subsequent orders of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, which declared that individuals occupying CDA flats in the Aabpara area of Sector G-6 without legal authorization have no lawful right to retain possession of the government-owned residences.
To facilitate the operation, the CDA has formally requested the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, the Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations), and the Assistant Commissioner (City) to provide security arrangements and magisterial cover.
Under the security plan, at least four police reserve platoons, anti-riot personnel, ATS officers, women police officials, and traffic police will be deployed. The SDPO and SHO of Aabpara Police Station have also been requested to remain present throughout the operation, while traffic management measures will be implemented around the area.
The ICT Administration has also been requested to nominate an Assistant Commissioner or Sub-Divisional Magistrate to provide magisterial cover and oversee legal compliance during the operation.

The notification notes that the CDA anticipates possible resistance during the eviction process. In view of this, the CDA Enforcement Wing has been directed to deploy enforcement teams, while the Works and Maintenance Directorates will provide machinery, technical support, and logistical assistance to ensure the operation proceeds smoothly.
The planned action comes nearly 20 days after the CDA served notices to unauthorized occupants, directing them to vacate the government flats voluntarily. With the notice period having expired, the authority is now moving to the enforcement phase in accordance with judicial directives.
Officials say the operation is aimed at reclaiming public property from illegal occupation while ensuring that the entire process is carried out in accordance with court orders and applicable legal procedures.
