ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Bar Association (IBA) has announced a complete strike on Monday, July 27, 2026, in protest against the alleged misconduct of Assistant Commissioner Maheen with members of the legal fraternity.
In a Press release issued on Saturday, the association alleged that Assistant Commissioner (City) Maheen Hassan misbehaved with Advocate Bilal Yousaf Choudhary and other lawyers during an incident. The bar said it had received several complaints against the officer, alleging inappropriate behaviour towards lawyers and visitors at his office.
According to the Statement, the Islamabad Bar Association’s executive committee met to discuss the matter and demanded immediate action against the officer. The association stated that no progress had been made despite approaching the district administration.
As a result, the IBA announced a complete strike on July 27, stating that lawyers will boycott court proceedings at the District Judicial Complex until the protest concludes.
