Over 437,000 Citizens Benefit from Islamabad Traffic Police Licensing Services
More than 82,000 learner permits, 75,000 new driving licences, 48,000 renewals, 4,300 duplicate licences, and over 7,000 licence conversions and endorsements have been processed this year.

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has provided driving licence-related services to more than 437,000 citizens during the current year as part of its ongoing efforts to improve public service delivery through digital and citizen-friendly initiatives.
According to Islamabad Traffic Police, over 82,000 learner driving permits have been issued, while more than 75,000 fresh driving licences have been processed. The department also completed the renewal of over 48,000 driving licences, issued more than 4,300 duplicate licences, and carried out over 7,000 licence conversions and endorsements.
The police said the licensing system is being further strengthened through modern technology, enabling faster, transparent, paperless and cashless services for residents of the federal capital.
Licensing Reforms Focus on Public Convenience
Chief Traffic Officer Kainat Azhar Khan said providing transparent, efficient and high-quality services to citizens remains the department’s top priority. She added that recent reforms in the licensing system have made the process easier and more convenient for the public.
Citizens Urged to Follow Traffic Laws
The CTO urged all eligible citizens to:
- Obtain a valid driving licence.
- Always carry it while driving.
- Strictly follow traffic laws to promote safer roads.
She said Islamabad Traffic Police remains committed to fostering a safe, organised and law-abiding traffic culture through modern service centres, digital facilities and public-friendly initiatives.
