Pakistan Deports Over 2.42 Million Illegal Afghan Residents

Islamabad: Pakistan’s ongoing crackdown against illegally residing foreign nationals, particularly Afghan citizens, continues as authorities intensify repatriation efforts through border points across the country.According to official sources, a total of 2,422,253 Afghan nationals have so far been deported from Pakistan under the ongoing repatriation drive.Sources said that during the month of May alone, 115,785 Afghan nationals have been sent back to Afghanistan.Officials further stated that on the previous day, 6,773 Afghan citizens were repatriated, while on May 19, around 7,163 individuals crossed into Afghanistan through the Chaman border along with their belongings.Authorities maintained that all deported individuals are being sent back after completing biometric verification procedures to ensure proper documentation and monitoring during the repatriation process.The government has repeatedly stated that the operation is aimed at undocumented foreign nationals residing illegally in the country.
