Former Ambassador’s Daughter Dies in Islamabad Traffic Accident

ISLAMABAD:A tragic traffic accident near Parade Ground Metro Station in Islamabad claimed the life of Rayan Wazir, daughter of former ambassador Ayaz Wazir, on Friday.According to police sources, the accident occurred when a Suzuki Swift car reportedly lost control due to high speed and mounted the footpath near the metro station area. The woman driving the vehicle died on the spot as a result of the crash.Sources said the driver was allegedly using a mobile phone at the time of the accident, though officials stated that the exact cause would be determined after a formal investigation.Police officials confirmed that the vehicle bearing registration number CB-214 is registered in the name of Ayaz Khan. Rescue personnel reached the scene shortly after the incident and shifted the body to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Hospital.Islamabad Police have initiated an investigation into the accident to determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.The incident has once again highlighted the dangers of overspeeding and mobile phone usage while driving on Islamabad’s roads, where traffic accidents linked to reckless driving continue to raise safety concerns.
