95 Illegal Visa Agents Identified in FIA’s Two-Week Operation
FIA Islamabad says 69 suspects using forged travel documents were arrested, eight most-wanted human traffickers apprehended, and 26 investigation reports submitted to courts during the July 1–15 crackdown.
ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has identified 95 illegal visa agents during a two-week crackdown on human trafficking and immigration fraud carried out by its Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) Islamabad between July 1 and July 15.
According to an official statement issued by the FIA, arrests have been made and legal proceedings initiated against those found involved in operating illegal visa businesses. The agency said the operations were part of its ongoing campaign to dismantle organized human trafficking and immigration fraud networks.
During the same period, 69 individuals attempting to travel abroad using forged travel documents were intercepted and taken into custody at different stages of the immigration process.
The FIA also arrested eight most-wanted human traffickers in targeted intelligence-based operations, describing the arrests as part of continued efforts to curb organized human smuggling.
In addition, 48 deportees were convicted by the courts and collectively fined Rs710,000, while investigations in 26 cases were completed and charge sheets submitted to the relevant courts for further legal proceedings.
The FIA Islamabad Zone reiterated its commitment to pursuing human trafficking networks and taking action against those involved in illegal migration, visa fraud, and document forgery. The agency said enforcement operations will continue without interruption to dismantle criminal networks and protect prospective overseas travellers from exploitation.
