IHC Halts FIA Recruitment Results Over Out-of-Syllabus Test Allegation
Islamabad High Court issues notices to the FIA and other respondents after a candidate challenges the recruitment examination, alleging the test included questions beyond the prescribed syllabus; results withheld until further orders.
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has restrained the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) from announcing the results of its recent recruitment examinations after a candidate challenged the testing process, alleging that the examination paper contained questions outside the prescribed syllabus.
Justice Azam Khan passed the interim order while hearing a petition filed by candidate Yasir Arafat. During the proceedings, the petitioner’s counsel, Afrasiab Ahmed Rana Advocate, argued that the recruitment test included out-of-syllabus questions, which allegedly compromised the fairness and transparency of the selection process.
The petitioner’s counsel further informed the court that a formal representation highlighting the alleged irregularities had already been submitted to the FIA before approaching the court for relief.
After hearing the preliminary arguments, the Islamabad High Court issued notices to the FIA and other respondents, directing them to submit their replies to the petition.
Pending a final decision on the matter, the court restrained the FIA from announcing the recruitment examination results. The interim order will remain in force until further directions are issued or the petition is finally decided.
The hearing was subsequently adjourned to a later date.
The petition primarily challenges the conduct of the recruitment examination on the grounds that it allegedly deviated from the notified syllabus. The allegations remain subject to judicial proceedings, and the Islamabad High Court has not made any final findings on the merits of the case.
