ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police has officially abolished its Dolphin Squad and replaced it with a newly established Capital Patrols Unit (CPU) as part of a major restructuring aimed at strengthening patrolling and emergency response across the federal capital.
According to police sources, the newly formed unit will initially be equipped with 40 electric vehicles to enhance mobility and promote environmentally friendly policing.
As part of the reorganisation, Islamabad Police has carried out large-scale transfers and postings. A total of 32 Sub-Inspectors, 36 Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), and 32 Head Constables have been assigned to the Capital Patrols Unit.
