IG Islamabad Inspects City Roads Amid Heavy Rain
IGP Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi visits key areas, directs officers to remain in the field and ensure smooth traffic flow and prompt assistance to citizens.
ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi visited different parts of the federal capital on Tuesday as heavy rain affected several areas, reviewing traffic conditions and the police response on major roads.
According to Islamabad Police, the IGP, accompanied by police teams, inspected different roads and localities to assess traffic movement and arrangements made to facilitate citizens during the rainfall.
Police said traffic remained operational on the capital’s major arteries, while teams were working in areas where rainwater had accumulated to facilitate drainage and maintain road movement.
During the visit, IGP Rizvi directed officers and personnel to remain present in their respective areas and extend all possible assistance to citizens. He also instructed police teams to ensure an immediate response to emergency calls and situations arising during the rain.
Islamabad Police said its personnel remained deployed in the field to assist citizens, maintain traffic flow and coordinate the response in rain-affected locations.
Citizens facing an emergency have been advised to contact Islamabad Police. The force’s official website lists 15 as its emergency helpline and 1915 as the Islamabad Traffic Police helpline.
