Korean Hockey Team Lands in Islamabad for Historic Tournament

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has officially begun its long-awaited return to the international hockey stage as the South Korean national hockey team arrived in Islamabad to participate in the FIH-approved four-nation international hockey tournament, ending a nearly 20-year wait for a major international hockey event on Pakistani soil.

The Korean squad received a warm welcome at Islamabad International Airport, where officials of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), government representatives and tournament organisers greeted the players and coaching staff. Strict security arrangements have been put in place to ensure the smooth conduct of the event.

Tournament to Begin on July 30

The historic tournament is scheduled to commence on July 30, with matches to be played over the coming week before culminating in the final on August 7. The competition will feature four international teams and is expected to provide Pakistan’s national side with valuable exposure against quality opposition.
