Islamabad Police Arrest Man Accused of Killing His Elder Brother

Suspect allegedly stabbed his elder brother to death with scissors during a breakfast-time dispute in Sangjani; police say the murder weapon has been recovered and further investigation is underway.

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have arrested a man accused of murdering his elder brother in the Sangjani area of the federal capital, tracing him to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through a technical and human intelligence-based investigation.

According to Islamabad Police spokesperson, the incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Sangjani Police Station, where the suspect, identified as Fawad Khan, allegedly attacked his elder brother Shehzad Khan with a pair of scissors, inflicting fatal injuries during a dispute.

Police said a case was registered immediately after receiving information about the incident, and an investigation was launched without delay.

Inspector General of Islamabad Police took notice of the case and directed the formation of dedicated police teams under the supervision of the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Islamabad to trace and apprehend the suspect.

During the investigation, the SHO Sangjani Police Station and the investigation team utilized both technical evidence and human intelligence, enabling them to locate and arrest the suspect from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa within a short period.

Police also recovered the alleged murder weapon a pair of scissors from the suspect’s possession.

According to the police’s preliminary investigation, the fatal incident occurred following an argument between the two brothers during breakfast. Authorities said further investigation is underway to determine all circumstances surrounding the case.
